Handcrafted, customized to fit your day, or need.
So, where to begin. Somewhere about 18 years ago, long before YouTube started, and when the internet was still just dial-up and waiting for that annoying sound to stop before you could start a search, I began teaching myself my craft of making flowers.
When I started I did live flowers and simple silk arrangements for friends for their weddings and other special occasions while I was busy working full time and raising my family. I did my own flowers along with most of my needed arrangements and items for my second wedding. Then I realized I could do this for real.
With that, I began scheduling wedding, and making arrangements for weddings, and birthdays, for anniversaries, and other special occasions. Building this business has been a journey and seeing the happiness and joy my flowers bring people is worth it.
Cardstock
This is a general weight for cardstock, however this cardstock can be printed, plain, with glitter, embossed, or textured.
This Cardstock generally is colored and isn't done in patterned very often. This cardstock doesn't flex well but keeps it's shape well.
This Cardstock generally is solid colored and unless special ordered patterns aren't available. This material is closer to a thin Poster Board and holds their creases and lines well.
This material is nearly a cardstock thickness but is limited to the category of poster board because of its common use. It holds it's creases firmly and isn't forgiving in the least. Mostly it is available in primary colors or neon colors. There are some brands available in metallic colors as well.
Singed Fabric
Crepe Material is a silk, wool, or synthetic fiber fabric with a distinctively crisp, crimped appearance. The Singed Crepe Flowers that I make are usually 9-14 layers that are hand-cut and hand singed and formed into a flower layer by layer. A button or rhinestone is placed in the center.
Satin Material is a fabric with a satin weave using filament fibers such as silk, polyester, or nylon, the corresponding fabric is termed a satin, although some definitions insist that the fabric be made from silk. if the yarns used are short-staple yarns such as cotton, the fabric formed is considered a sateen. Because I used an open flame to singe these petals I used a silk base Satin. To create these flowers 6-9 layers of Satin are hand-cut then singed and the flower is formed.
Cotton is a natural fiber that comes form the seedpod of the cotton plant and is used to make many fabric types.
I use quilt squares or any printed cotton fabric to make the Origami style or even the roses that are made from my own paper rose pattern.
This paper comes pre-cut and sized starting about 1 inch square and ranges up to about 8 inches square. This paper is rather thin. If it is true Origami paper it will be two sided. Normally one side will have a pattern and other will be a solid color.
I have over time purchased several vintage bibles, ranging in age of early 1980's to the mid 1960's in print date. These bibles were either missing covers or whole books of the bible. I have re-purposed them by making them into flowers. They are in book size sheets, and are normally a little thinner than printer paper.
This paper is from salvaged vintage Atlas's. I have purchased Atlas's from several used book stores ranging in dates from the mid 1990's to the early 1980's, as well as several old state maps. These tend be closer to the 45 lb paper weight than normal book paper weight. Most are a slight glossy finish as well.
This Cardstock is close to the weight of general printer paper, or general scrapbook paper. This paper can be found in any print or color desired just about. It comes in glossy, matte, embossed, patterned, flat colors. It creases well but is somewhat delicate.
These flowers are made from aluminum cans. They are washed and cut either into a template design that I have created that is of my own design, or is cut into individual petals that are then made into flowers.
Satin ribbon, as noted above in the singed satin material, this ribbon is made up of silk, polyester, or nylon fibers. Because of this, once I cut these petals into shape I can then singe the petals and shape them according to how I want them to look when the rose is finished.
These flowers are made from various kinds of cardstock and various weights of paper. They are made in the same petal by petal method that I use for Satin Ribbon roses, and the Metal flowers. Each petal is cut differently and the shape from one petal to the next is different.
These artificial flowers are normally silks or satin and then they are dipped or sometimes lightly sprayed with latex to give them a true texture, or a true fee.
Normally Silk flowers are handmade, in some cases my silk flowers are handmade, some times in the artificial arrangements they are bought wholesale, my clients are informed which it will be. These flowers are made up in layers.
For the most part these are what people generally have come to know as artificial flowers. They can be made up of single layers of Satin or multiple layers with either a foam center or plastic center to give the flower shape.
These are somewhat new in the world of artificial flowers. Some of the foam flowers can at a glance look real, but they are actually foam, like the craft sheets of foam sold in the craft store, however they are heat cut that way the edges aren't left exposed.
This material comes in several different weights, and numerous different colors. Thin, crinkled paper resembling crepe material, used especially for making decorations. It can be layered and manipulated in several different ways to create different effects.
I have a select type of crepe that I used to create some of my flowers that I hand-dye. I use different inks and natural sources to dye the crepe in many shades. I also sell this Crepe in 8 inch circles in my shop. Its great for displays and small projects.
I have amassed a large collection of both vintage pins and buttons in the a later gallery you have the ability to see a collection of the pins and brooches and a small sample of the buttons I use. Some of the buttons are nearly 100 years old. As are some of the brooches and pins. This increases the prices of some of the finished products they are used in.
THese are the basic Materials i use to create my arrangements, i'm willing to try just about anything. let me know if there is something you've seen or think you would like me to try.

Recommend Becky
Recently a family friends brother passed away. I wanted to send flowers to the funeral. Another friend of mine suggested Little Backyard Wedding Boutique. She said that they make flowers out of paper & silk that will last forever.
I talked with the owner Becky & asked if she could make a dozen silk roses in a hurry as I only had two days until the viewing & I wanted them there by then. Not only did Becky meet the deadline, but she gave suggestions on the color (we chose yellow for friendship) & delivered them for me. Becky suggested that she give directions to the Funeral Home Director to give the flowers to the mother of the deceased son. I thought that was a nice personal touch.
Becky sent me a picture before she delivered the flowers & they looked amazing!! A beautiful arrangement of bloomed roses with greenery surrounding them in a glass vase. They looked so real...
I know my friend & his mother really appreciated the gesture & I will definitely be calling Becky for more flowers in the future.
Sincerely,
Matt

Becki was amazing, she helped bring all my hopes for my son's grooms party/rehearsal dinner to life. She did a wonderful job making all of the table runner flower arrangements just like I had seen on Pinterest a reality. She designed all of the arrangements for the food tables and made all of the tables special and unique with little touches on each that made them all different and brought the whole space together. Some of her arrangements were even carried over the next day for the reception of the wedding itself as they blended so well with the decor for the wedding. She helped to go my last minute checklist too. She's a real gem, and I've recommend her to others for their special events.

It's been nearly a year since my now wife and I were wed. I remember how beautiful she looked, and am reminded of the day often when I see her beautiful bouquet sitting in an antique vase in our great room. Becki helped to make my wife's wishes for that day even more than she had hoped with all of her special touches and attention to details. She was conscious of our budget and wishes and helped to make our wedding just what we hoped it would be. Thank you again Becki for all you did for us.

Excellent!
I received an arrangement as a gift and I thought it was absolutely adorable! I was amazed flowers like that could be made out of ribbon! Since the flowers were made from ribbon, I won’t have to worry about the flowers wilting and dying. I will 100% be purchasing something from her for Motbers Day this year!!

Excellent!
I bought an arrangement for a very picky friend. Lyllyan was able to get the material I wanted and after discussing with her we were able to come up with the perfect flowers to meet my expectations. After receiving the bouquet she not only met my expectations, she exceeded them.

I met with Becki and expressed what I was wanting and hoping my bouquet would be, as well as a Boutonniere for my husband to be, and a corsage for my mother-in-law to be as well. I know it was on kind of short notice, nearly a month before. However she was able to meet all of my wishes and produced three lovely pieces for my most special day. She also helped with creating my veil outside of the flowers she made. My husband's and mother-in-law's are now displayed nicely in a shadow box, and I have my beautiful bouquet on our sideboard in the great room. Becki was great to work with, and delivered on every detail promised. I have recommended her to friends who are looking for bridal florists as well.
5 Stars.
We had Lyllyan Queen make corsaqes, boutonnieres, and the Bridal bouquet at our wedding. When I first saw these creations, i was confused as they were so lifelike i thought we has switched vendors at the last minute! They were absolutely beautiful, perfect in color and construction. Wonderfully delicate to the touch yet strong enough to last the celebration and the years to follow. We still have these with our wedding day souvenirs and they look just as gorgeous as the day we were married!
5 STARS!!!
